07/06/13 Behind-The-Scenes

Yesterday, I had a long and gruesome Mori Girl [themed] photoshoot for my Fashion Photography class. It was gruesome in the sense that I had to photograph seven outfits all-in-all under the bipolar gloomy-sunny weather. I was fortunate though, that I was working with three talented and enduring ladies: Clarisse who modeled for me, Chai who did her make-up and Lyeca who styled and planned the outfits.

I was originally thinking of shooting a Vogue-ish [western] theme — with fabulous gowns, thick make-up and standard skinny models, but I decided to go ahead and feature a Japanese fashion genre. I was a bit hesitant at first, since most people (including my professors) aren’t very much appreciative of Jfashion, let alone a quite obscure one like Mori. No regrets though! I think the ensembles we did in this shoot were creative enough to be tagged as an editorial —which was the task assigned by my professor. What do you think?

Before you proceed to the pictures, why don’t you check out this video uploaded by Chai on Instagram? :D Also, she uploaded one with me in it. Haha! This is how I actually shoot.

Now onto the BTS…

Kat’s Cafe

I happened to pass by Kat’s Cafe a few weeks ago, and got interested since the place looked cozy and dainty. Also, the nearest Starbucks was getting a bit too crowded for a chillout place. I’m no food blogger so I’ll decide to let my photographs do most of the talking ;)

I ordered a caramel creampuff, red velvet cupcake and coffee jelly. Then, I decided to try their puttanesca pasta after.

I took home a box of four assorted cupcakes: banana nutella, oreo cheesecupcake, rockyroad and death by chocolate.

What you see is pretty much what you get. The food tastes as good as they look. Would I be going back to Kat’s Cafe? Definitely! The food is good, and the place is peaceful and relaxing. If only I could describe my dining experience like a food critic, I would. So I guess I’d just say: do try and visit Kat’s Cafe
